Cathy Shurman joined Craig Technologies in July of 2009 and currently serves as a Director responsible for all internal corporate functions. She will be the quality improvement lead for all programs, both internal and client delivery.
Cathy attended Knox College in Galesburg IL and Illinois State University in Bloomington IL where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Computer Science with a Minor in Economics.
Cathy began her career at John Deere Insurance in Moline Illinois as a Programmer Analyst/Systems Analyst. After starting a family 7 years later, she moved back to the Peoria Illinois area and began working for Caterpillar, Inc. in 1997. She served in many capacities including a Business Process Analyst in which she was responsible for providing worldwide system support for the engine order and invoicing system and developing/redefining business processes. In this role, Cathy gained extensive knowledge in the design, configuration, and support of the SAP BI and SD applications. She also worked as a Senior Business Research Analyst responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining information systems that supported strategic planning, pricing and forecasting.
Her last role before leaving the company to work for Craig Technologies was spent as a 6 Sigma Black Belt where she lead process improvement, gap analysis, feasibility and cost reduction projects using a disciplined, data-driven approach and methodology for eliminating defects and driving consistency and commonality within several business processes.
Cathy’s enthusiasm, her strong analytical and organizational skills and her 6 Sigma training are invaluable to achieving the company’s goals. Cathy and her husband, Keith, are parents to two beautiful daughters- Rachael and Jessica Shurman.
